About

SERCF project is about building and developing a concept that will eventually form a permanent local, national and international unit for Finland’s Päijät-Häme region to enhance its sport specialization. Sport specialization is one of the strategies of Päijät-Häme region and responds to the innovation target of European Union and competition of different Finnish regions. SERCF will help Päijät-Häme and its main cities, like Lahti, to further increase their capabilities in sports education, events, knowledge and training as well as export and business with the addition of sports engineering and R&D.

Objectives

SERCF aims to implement the objectives of the sport specialization strategy and enhance the local competitiveness, competence, research and education with the sports engineering complex. With the sports engineering, new data and simulation methods can be developed for various user purposes in training, practice or professional level. Sports engineering also benefits equipment and practice development that can be used professionally, beginner levels or at developing new products. All the above enhance the competence and expertise of various stakeholders, innovation and the development of new technologies.

SERCF project is organized together with local, national and international companies and start-ups as well as LUT University and a Finnish sports center Pajulahti.
